Giddy Up

Despite Leo's initial concerns of Grandpa Gene, a wild version of Smokey Ol' Joe won him over.

Chuga Chuga Choo Choo

To Leo's delight his toy crate has become the perfect train car. The only dissatisfier is when mom, the train engine, losses steam.

Say Cheese!

Or not so much. Leo had his first official picture day. For a kid who smiles and laughs like a hyena; he was a deer in headlights. Right up until the clothes came off anyway. Once he was naked he warmed right up to the camera. Not sure what this says about his future.

Swingers

For the past couple of weeks, Leo has been spending every possible minute at the park. Sylvia introduced him to the swing and there was no turning back. He loves it! We got in on the fun last weekend.

Grandparent's Weekend

Mom and Dad went to Madison for the weekend to celebrate Dad's birthday. So Grandma Ginny and Grandpa Jim came to visit me. I showed them around our neighborhood and they took me to Feast for brunch on Sunday where I sat in the restaurant highchair. This was a first!

But man, having house guests is exhausting!

Second Course

First Eats

Leo had his first go at solid food today. Well, if you can call very mushy rice cereal solid. While, hilarious for his parents; Leo's reviews seemed to be thumbs down. Despite, mom and dad's best attempts (read crazy faces, ridiculous noises and even eating a little themselves) Leo wasn't convinced that solid food is where its at. He was, however, very interested in chowing on his bib and even tried to get a bite out of his highchair. We'll try again tomorrow, maybe pears will be better received.

Leo's a Renegade

This weekend Leo hit the Renegade Art Fair in Wicker Park with one of his favorite girls, Kristin. He went wild and stayed up way past his bedtime. He was the evening's entertainment, talking and laughing for the enjoyment of everyone else ... well his proud parents' enjoyment anyway.

An Average Day

Leo Goes to the Farmer's Market

Leo slept through most of our trips to the Farmer's Markets this summer. But last week, he took in all the sights and smells the fresh veggies, fruits and flowers had to offer. He couldn't get enough of the basil!
